HANDS-ON FIBER OPTIC TRAINING FOR TECHNICIAN - conducted by Soul Communication Sdn Bhd

Early this year, we have been invited by our customer to provide a hands-on training for technician - at beginner level. The training was conducted in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan with 2-days session. All done in a relax and enjoyable environment.

Among the topics covered are:

• Basic data communication system - how the data travel in fiber optic
• Understanding the structure of fiber optic cable (sheath, coating, fiber, etc)
• Singlemode vs multimode (also covered OS1, OM1,OM2,OM3)
• Fiber optic components - cable, patchcord, pigtail, adaptor, FASC, closure, etc
• Hands-on practice on fusion splicer
• Knowing types of fusion splicing machine, tips when buying
• Fiber color coding scheme, color coding on patchcord, pigtail, adaptor for SM/MM
• Wavelength, pulse width, attenuation - relation to OTDR
• Hands-on practice on OTDR usage, visual fault locator, OLS, OPM
• Calculation on maximum allowance value for optical loss
• And some other which we demonstrate and brief to customer
